New gameplay footage from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be shown during The Game Awards on December 1, Nintendo has announced. The confirmation was provided by way of a Twitter post.

Geoff Keighley, producer and host of The Game Awards, also posted two images on Twitter, teasing the upcoming video. The first is a rune which looks like the Eye of Truth from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The second is a promotional image pointing people to the event.

An official release date for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has not yet been revealed. According to Nintendo, it is only confirmed to come out sometime in 2017. It is planned for release on both the Wii U and Nintendo's next platform, Switch.

Reports have claimed The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild may launch in March, alongside the Switch. However, conflicting claims have suggested Breath of the Wild won't be a Switch launch title, but a new Mario game could be.

Another game that will be showcased at The Game Awards is Bethesda's Prey, which will have its "worldwide debut of new gameplay."

Prey was released in 2006 for PC and Xbox 360, developed by Human Head Studios. However, at E3 a completely reworked version was announced, with the Austin arm of Dishonored 2 developer Arkane Studios at the helm.

Prey is billed as a sci-fi psychological thriller. You can learn more about Prey here.
