The Xbox One system update that introduces this feature should arrive for everyone "in a few weeks."
As for its other new features, the update will allow you to see who is in a party before joining it. It also adds a new Gamerscore leaderboard menu to the Achievements section of your profile.
Check out this post for lots more on what's included with the new Xbox One update.
Before this, the latest Xbox One system update was the New Xbox One Experience. It arrived in November and totally overhauled the Xbox One's UI and introduced backwards compatibility support for Xbox 360 games.
