Following up on its promise that a new multiplayer map would be ready "soon" for the Xbox version of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, Ubisoft today announced that Steel Squat is now available for download over Xbox Live.

Steel Squat lets mercenaries go head-to-head with spies in Brooklyn, New York. The versus map, previously available on the PC, features both indoor and outdoor scenarios in an urban setting.

Ubisoft will also be releasing two more cooperative maps, Nuclear Plant and UN Headquarters. The two maps, set in Korea and New York, respectively, will be available for free in the coming weeks. Polar Base, another versus map, will also be released later this summer. All three maps will be released for the PC as well.

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory is rated M for Mature and retails for $49.99 on the Xbox. For more information on the game, head over to GameSpot's full review.
