The new trailer for Venom: Let There Be Carnage has been released. The sequel to 2018's Spider-Man spin-off Venom hits theaters on September 24.

The new trailer starts with Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) adjusting to living with the alien symbiote Venom inside him. Venom very much wants to be out on the streets eating people, but Brock is trying to lead a quieter life. The movie's main villain is Cletus Kasady (Woody Harrelson), a serial killer that Eddie interviews in an attempt to get his journalistic career back on track. But Cletus himself become infected with a symbiote after biting Eddie and transforms into Carnage, a terrifying creature that even Venom is a bit reluctant to fight. Check the trailer out below:

Venom: Let There Be Carnage also stars Michelle Williams, Reid Scott, and Stephen Graham. It's directed by Andy Serkis, who is best known for playing Gollum in the Lord of the Rings movie as well as Ulysses Klaue in Black Panther.

The original Venom was not a critical hit, but it made more than $850 million worldwide to finish as the seventh highest-grossing movie of 2018. It made more than $100 million more than other popular films that year like Deadpool 2 and Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Sony's next movie based on a Spider-Man character will be Morbius, which arrives in January 2022, having been delayed from July last year. It stars Jared Leto as the "living vampire" Dr. Michael Morbius.
