2009's New Super Mario Bros. Wii has now sold 10 million copies in the United States, Nintendo of America announced on Twitter. The tweet was accompanied by the image below.
US sales represent just about a third of the game's overall sales, as the applauded side-scrolling game has shifted more than 28.65 million units worldwide as of March 31, 2014.
Nintendo cut the game's price in the US, from $50 to $30, in September 2013.
Below are the top-selling Wii games of all time, per data current as of March 31, 2014. Some of the games, including Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort, and others, were bundled with systems.
The Wii itself crossed 100 million units sold in July 2013, far outpacing the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
