New Street Fighter 5 DLC Now Available, Supports This Year's Capcom Pro Tour

New costumes are available now, with a stage and more still to come.

Much as it did last year, Capcom is again offering new Street Fighter V DLC to support the game's ongoing esports initiative.

Both Ken and Ryu are getting new costumes (pictured below), as is a character to be named later; he or she will be chosen by the champion of this year's Capcom Cup. A Capcom Pro Stage is also in the works that has not yet been revealed.

Each of those pieces of content will be available individually. Alternatively, you can purchase the Capcom Pro Tour 2017 Premier Pass. That includes everything above in addition to two in-game titles and a Pro Tour-themed color for all 28 characters (the latter of which will only be available in the PS4 version).

In response to feedback to last year's DLC, Premier Pass owners will also receive monthly in-game objectives that pay out Fight Money upon completion. One example of these is winning a specific number of Ranked matches online. These will be available starting in June.

Prices for all of this are on the high end, as the goal is, in part, to boost the money that will be paid out to winners of the Capcom Cup. A "minimum" of 30% of revenue from this DLC will go directly into the prize pool, while 50% will go toward production of the Pro Tour. The prize pool is also fed in part through money from sponsorships, merchandise sale, and ad revenue.

Here's how the prices shake out:

  • Ryu costume -- $5.99 / € 5.99
  • Ken costume -- $5.99 / € 5.99
  • Champion's choice costume -- $5.99 / € 5.99
  • CPT Stage -- $9.99 / € 9.99
  • CPT 2017 Premier Pass -- $24.99 / € 24.99

All of this will only be available for a limited time. Right now, the plan is for availability to run from now through November. This may be your only choice to obtain it--Capcom's announcement notes there are no plans to bring back the content that was offered for 2016.

The Premier Pass is now available on both Steam and the PlayStation Store.
