Capcom has announced Menat, a new DLC fighter for Street Fighter V, will be available on August 29. A trailer for the character was shown during the Hong Kong Esports Festival where the latest leg of the Capcom Pro Tour competition is being held. You can see Menat in action in the video below.

Menat is a female Egyptian character that manipulates orbs as part of her fighting style. Naturally, the first point of comparison for her is Rose, a character from the Alpha/Zero series. Like Rose, Menat is able to reflect projectiles and can summon them to surround her as part of her V-Trigger move.

It seems like players will be able to position their orbs on a stage to control space and also send them at an opponent or call them back on command, which will be handy for creating lengthy combos and juggling enemies. In the gameplay trailer she can be seen knocking Ryu into the air and then calling an orb back, which hits Ryu into the air again and extends the juggle. At this point she grabs him out of the air and brings him crashing to the ground. The orbs also look to be very useful for pushing and pulling opponents into ideal attacking distances, even when they're blocking.

Unlike Rose, however, Menat has a dive kick and has a number of grab moves on top of the universal throw that every fighter has. Her V-Reversal is a teleport, which means she'll be pretty handy for escaping corner setups. A number of costumes will also be available for Menat when she becomes available and you can take a look at them below.

Menat is available to purchase individually for $6 or as part of the game's $30 Season 2 Character Pass. This pass also includes Akuma, Kolin, Ed, and Abigail.

The last DLC character for Street Fighter V was Abigail, who became available in early August. Abigail is a beefy bruiser that originally appeared in Capcom's Final Fight series, and stands as the tallest Street Fighter character to date.

Capcom also previously revealed more DLC costumes for Street Fighter V's character. Four new outfits be available from August 29 to coincide with the fighting game series' 30th anniversary. The costumes are for M. Bison, Guile, Ibuki, and Karin, and each one retails for $4 each. You can see screenshots of the outfits here.

When this game first came out it was the awful Street fighter game and probably the worst street fighter game ever made and that didn't even future an Arcade mode. After the trouble release they did fix the game up really good but the game is a money pit and will suck the life out of your wallet. Right now if you have any intension of getting every DLC character and costumes and everything that's available that's probably $150 to $200 game

@angrycreep: True. But don't leave out that you can earn all of the characters and stages with in game currency and that this model of updating the single disc was done in response to the meme-like status of the complaint about "super, ultra, turbo arcade edition" which was how they use to give us balance changes and new content. This also means the player base isn't fragmented as some one with super sf4 couldn't play against those with Ultra sf4. If I remember correctly.

The reason why SFV sucks is because Capcom went hard core nickle and diming everyone. Didn't release a full game released a very unfinished game just add a ton of dlc characters and outfits after the fact at fairly expensive prices.

SFV has shaped up to be among the best fighters on PS4. With the roster getting this Menat character, I can only hope that Capcom isn't finished and will introduce some series faves to join the fray. Bring on Sagat!

@Pyrosa: Uh... you can unlock her without paying. And the Season Pass (£19.99) is basically the price of a standard expansion pack.

So yea, check your facts.

@uninspiredcup: Where did you see that you can unlock her without paying? And multiple season passes is 'nickel and diming'.

@lionheartssj1: It's been that way since day 1... Everything barring DLC costumes can be unlocked for free. And even then, you get an additional story-costume you can unlock without paying.

So yea, you have no idea what you're talking about dude.

@uninspiredcup: Firstly, I only asked you where you saw character unlocks. Secondly, multiple season passes do fall firmly under the 'nickle and dime' colloquialism, regardless of what's in them. So, I'll politely ask you to take your pedantry and shove it up your a$$.

@lionheartssj1: Now you're getting angry and unintentionally ironic.

You posted without a clue, clearly haven't even played it.

The end.

@uninspiredcup: Actually, the irony was not lost on me. I had a good chuckle.

I did play it a little on my buddy's PC. Obviously he didn't have any of the DLC characters unlocked so neither of us really realized you had to grind for in-game currency to get characters. So in a sense, no, I didn't know, that's why I asked.

What I took issue with was you telling me I have no idea what I'm talking about when I just asked you about it. You could have simply answered like you did, but without the flippant insult closure.
