There's now less than three months until the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The latest movie in the Star Wars saga is directed by JJ Abrams and it hits theaters on December 20. Some new images have now been released.

The images come via Empire. All three center upon villainous Kylo Ren, played by Adam Driver. In the first, Kylo and Rey (Daisy Ridley) are Force-fighting for possession of a lightsaber, while the second shows Kyko being blasted back by something unseen--Rey perhaps. While he's still standing, dozens of nearby Stormtroopers have been sent flying. The third image gives us a good look at the sinister Knight of Ren. Check the first out below, and the rest over at Empire's site.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker also stars John Boyega as Finn, Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron, Kelly Marie Tran as Rose Tico, Lupita Nyong'o as Maz Kanata, Domhnall Gleeson as General Hux, Mark Hamill as Luke, and Billy Dee Williams as Lando. It will also include an appearance from Carrie Fisher. Although Fisher died before production began, she will appear in footage originally shot for 2017's The Last Jedi. The Rise of Skywalker isn't the only highly-anticipated Star Wars release due in the next couple of months. In November, the first ever live-action Star Wars show The Mandalorian will hit the streaming platform Disney+. The first episode of the show will be available on November 12, which is the day the service launches.
