The next Star Wars movie, a standalone spinoff centered on Han Solo, opens in theatres next month. Disney today released a new trailer for it--and it's pretty spectacular. The trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story, as it's officially called, provides one of the best looks yet at the anticipated sci-fi movie. We also see some Destiny-like enemies, while more details are revealed about pretty much all the major characters. There is also a particularly fantastic battle sequence near the end. Check it out in the video embed above.

Solo: A Star Wars Story stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han and Donald Glover as Lando, along with Woody Harrelson, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Emilia Clarke. It hits theaters on May 25, 2018. Solo is directed by Ron Howard, who took over from Phil Lord and Chris Miller after they were fired from the production in May last year. Recently, it was confirmed that Howard will be credited as the movie's sole director, with Lord and Miller taking executive producer credits.

Howard also took to social media recently to update fans on the film's progress. The director posted an image on Twitter of him watching it, and wrote: "Final stages of [post production] on #Solo. It's gratifying to see everybody’s dedication to this story--going back to 2012--adding up in such a fun and satisfying way. So much talent involved."

A slick new poster for Solo: A Star Wars Story has also arrived. Check it out below.

In related news, it was announced in February the Jungle Book director Jon Favreau will direct a new live-action Star Wars TV show. The series is set to premiere of Disney's streaming platform, which launches next year. This is in addition to the two new Star Wars movie series in the work, one from Last Jedi director Rian Johnson, the other overseen by Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.
