Sony Online Entertainment has released the latest in a series of 3D screenshots showing off the different character models that will be featured in its upcoming massively multiplayer online role-playing game Star Wars Galaxies. The latest 3D screenshot shows off a male rodian in a swamp environment greeting a variety of other characters. Rodians are one of the eight playable species that will be featured in the first Star Wars Galaxies game.

The screenshot, which requires a QuickTime plug-in to view, can be found along with previous 3D screenshots on the official Star Wars Galaxies Web site. The 3D screenshots provide a 360-degree view around the characters.

Star Wars Galaxies is in development at Verant Interactive, the studio that created the popular online role-playing game EverQuest, and it is scheduled for release in 2002. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game.
