New Star Wars Battlefront Video Shows Boba Fett, Leia, Han Solo in Action

Plus, check out all the planets you'll be battling on.

A new gameplay video for Star Wars Battlefront has appeared online. The video hasn't been officially released by publisher EA, and is instead a series of clips someone has grabbed from the Star Wars Battlefront Planets website that have been stitched together.

In addition to showcasing hero characters such as Boba Fett, Leia, Han Solo, and the Emperor getting into the thick of battle, we're also given a look at various locations from the game. These include Endor, Hoth, Sullust, and Tatooine, where the Rebels and Empire can be seen duking it out on land and in the sky.

Star Wars Battlefront is expected to launch on November 17 across all platforms, which is about a month before Disney's new movie, The Force Awakens, hits theaters.

EA has said it believes Star Wars Battlefront could draw in lapsed gamers and younger gamers.

"Anecdotally, what we have seen is that Star Wars Battlefront is bringing in two groups that are very important groups to us," said CEO Andrew Wilson. "One are gamers that have lapsed, traditionally who have been big gamers in the past and maybe haven't played for a while, and [Battlefront's beta has] certainly been a catalyst for those people to come back into the gaming universe as it relates to console. And two, onboarding a new younger age demographic."

On October 29, EA updated its shipment forecast for Star Wars Battlefront in response to positive reception to the game's multiplayer beta. The publisher now expects to ship 13 million copies by the end of its current fiscal year.

More recently, a trailer for Battle of Jakku, the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens-inspired DLC coming to Star Wars Battlefront in December, was released. Take a look at the video here.

Though I really haven't enjoyed the last couple DICE releases... I must admit this looks quite tempting. Fallout 4 will save me from this... I hope.

Finally, EA at least gave us the luxury of getting on speeder bikes and not get stupid pickups. If only they had taken their ideas of copying and did the same with all other vehicles...

getting powerups to become hero or enter at-at feels more like starfox than starwars.

Power ups should be rewarded to the most succesful players in overall score (and not only kills)

If they dont fix this aspect of the game they are in for a big fail.

all the planets? you mean all 4 measly planets? i have no idea how some people can still be excited for this shitty cash grab when it is becoming more and more apparent this game has LITTLE to nothing to offer to gamers. if you want a true Battlefront experience go play the original and Battlefront 2.

@chimekolover88: Battlefront 2 wasn't that good of a game as people remember it was. The reason this game is getting massive hype is the fact that the new Star Wars movie is near it's release and Battlefront is just tagging along for the ride, so there are some fans wanting to buy it just because it's Star Wars.

I've boycotted EA for years but I'm starved for a Star Wars game, even though if it's a crappy reboot.

Looking good, a missed opportunity leaving us single players with acceptable content.

Honestly this website has the biggest community of terribad, whiny casuals this game looks so damn good. Also, while they existed in previous games like Rogue Squadron, lock-on missiles shouldnt be a thing in a online-only star wars game. Fucking Lock-ons ruined Battlefield and will ruin the enjoyment of flying/dogfighting in this game also.

edit: OMG cant wait to ride speedbikes through Endor.

@gameroutlawzz: No because everyone has lock ons as opposed to making them difficult to get and most people not having them. It doesnt hurt gameplay at all here. It did in BF3.

Man it saddens me that such dedication the devs put into the visuals and sound design (except some of the voices, Leia, ugh).... Is wasted on such a shallow cash grab. No game will ever look like it does in the video, it is obviously staged. Not enough morons running around doing their own thing jumping everywhere, crashing into things etc etc.

This is going to be a typical case of less for more. Just 4 planets on launch is crazy low. That is like what, 10-12 maps. For a MP only game?

@merwanor:I think you're being way too pessimistic. When I played the Beta when it first came out, of course there were moments where --- especially on Walker Assault -- no one knew how to play for objectives and just went for kills in this sloppy mess of action. But during the last days of the Beta, people were exceptionally more coordinated, it felt. There were times where things came together in epic fashions that felt like they were straight out of a real Star Wars battle. I remember playing as rebels on Walker Assault this one time where it seemed like everyone on the team just knew what they were doing. We were having this vicious battle over one of the uplinks when two enemy AT-STs came lumbering in, firing salvo after salvo at us. They were completely decimating us, pushing right through our defensive line while we could barely even halve the health of one. Then, just as they were about to reach the uplink, two X-Wings came swooping down and simultaneously, in this massive explosion of ash and blaster fire, completely destroyed both AT-STs. It felt immensely cool, and really was a moment where I thought they captured some of the magic of what a Star Wars game should be. Needless to say, it certainly feels like EA's going to earn my money this time around.

Used to look forward to the new Battlefront. Then they abandoned everything that made Battlefront good and just made it Star Wars: Battlefield. Nothing more than a Star Wars themed shooter-clone.

@DeviantCode: I keep hearing people regurgitate this nonsense. Go into detail. How is this so much like Battlefield and nothing like the old Battlefront games? Also, why is that even a bad thing if it were true?

Those old Battlefront games are not as good as people remember. This game isn't just better graphics. It's way smoother and less clunky. The movement and physics are better. In the old games, the shooting was crappy and weak. The aiming was too wide and fell like you were hitting the player with paintball shots because they had no real power to them and they didn't even react. This looks better. Stop getting tricked by nostalgia. Perhaps, you are too young to remember.

Go back and watch some old gameplay vids on YouTube. Those games were so cartoon like in their movement with Vader zipping around in a way you'd never really seen him do in the movies. Plus, they were known for having the worst lag in any online shooter. The game was fun for it's time but incredibly cheesy. I also get a kick out of people complaining about the voice acting, listen to the older games!

The only thing better about the old games was the amount of content. You could be anyone! That was awesome. Everything else wasn't nearly as good. Flat and linear level designs and so many heroes having the same generic move sets and crappy player movement, sloppy precision non-stop lag.

@leonitrus: Ultimate irony being, of course, that Battlefront was a straight-up ripoff of Battlefield with a Star Wars theme and dedicated third-person perspective.

So really, all these whingy-ass schmucks should be happy, if they're so determined to believe that it's a Battlefield clone... just means the circle is complete.

@leonitrus: Typically, when folks refer to older games, it's understood that it comes with the grain of salt that those games were limited by the technologies of the time.

The biggest thing they dropped from the originals is the concept of a single-player campaign. If you followed any of this game's development, you know there's a large population of gamers who don't like that decision.

Of course graphics, animation, and technology are improved. But those are just window-dressing. In all ways other than cosmetic, the new game is less than previous entries in the franchise.

@DeviantCode: It's funny because people act like shooter games are way more popular with online MP. Look at COD and Battlefield. Alot of people don't even tough the campaign. Even if they do, they play through it once. This game has a single player, it's just not a story campaign but we already know the story because of the movies! You play that out in MP so why the complaints about playing that in a campaign when doing so against players is way more fun than bots.

The only thing I don't like is that there isn't anything from the prequels. I wanted to be the droids as well as heroes like Darth Maul. Hopefully that will be on the season pass. Don't think I'll get it otherwise but the beta was awesome. Played so much better than the old lag fest crap that was the older Battlefront games. I remember the first one, you couldn't even play as the heroes. Yeah, real fun!

This game at times it looks really interesting...and some others it looks really dull, i would prefer a much more "traditional" approach with a single player and a multiplayer feature, but that's just me.
