New Star Wars App Helps You Prank Call Friends, Check Tatooine's Weather

How did this not exist before?

Following yesterday's big Star Wars movie news, Disney on Wednesday launched an official Star Wars app for mobile devices. The app is available now as a free download from iTunes and Google Play.

As you could probably guess, the Star Wars app aims to be a handy way to stay on top of all the big Star Wars news. We're expecting lots of news and reveals this year with Star Wars Battlefront and The Force Awakens launching in a matter of months.

The app lets you choose from a handful of themes, including Light Side, Dark Side, and Droid; each features different designs, sounds, and animations. In addition, you can use your camera to take a selfie in a number of iconic Star Wars costumes, and then share it with the world.

Other features for the app include fictional Star Wars weather forecasts, a virtual sound board (which you can use to prank call your friends), an assortment of Star Wars animated GIFs to look at and share, a video hub, and a news blog.
