SoulCalibur VI arrives on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, this October, and Bandai Namco continues to slowly reveal more of the game's roster in the run up to its release. The latest trailer shows off another fan-favorite character who'll be returning in the upcoming installment: Voldo.

Voldo is one of five characters to have appeared in every main installment in the SoulCalibur series, debuting in 1995's Soul Edge. As you can see in the trailer above, his latest incarnation is as unsettling as ever. Bandai Namco also shared a bit of insight into Voldo's backstory to explain his eccentric mannerisms:

"Voldo was the right-hand man to Vercci, an arms dealer with the nickname 'Merchant of Death,' and was tasked to protect the Money Pit, where all of Vercci's treasures were kept after his death. After spending years in the dark depths of the Money Pit, Voldo lost his eyesight but gained a heightened sense of hearing and awareness, making him extremely deadly to those who dared to enter the Money Pit in search of riches. Voldo's fighting style is unmatched, as he contorts his body in unnatural ways and can even attack backwards, making him unpredictable and deadly in battle."

Voldo is the fifteenth character announced for SoulCalibur VI thus far. Last week, Bandai Namco also confirmed that the wind priestess Talim also returns in the upcoming title, making this her first appearance in the series since 2008's SoulCalibur IV.

SoulCalibur VI launches on October 19. In addition to its many returning characters, it features Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher series, who will even be featured on the game's cover. Witcher developer CD Projekt Red says it is working closely with Bandai to assure Geralt looks and feels authentic in the game.
