Disney+ has become the online home of The Simpsons, with 30 seasons of the much-loved animated comedy available on the service. Those hundreds of episodes are about to be joined by a new Simpsons short film, which releases tomorrow, April 10.

The short film is titled Maggie Simpson in 'Playdate with Destiny'. It was released theatrically in February with the Pixar movie Onward, which has itself already arrived on Disney+. Simpsons creator Matt Groening announced the arrival of the new Simpsons film on Instagram. Read his post below, and check out the poster at the end of this story.

Disney has also released a synopsis for Maggie Simpson in 'Playdate with Destiny.' It reads: "The film begins on a day that seemed like just another day at the park for Maggie Simpson. But when Maggie faces playground peril, a heroic young baby whisks her from danger--and steals her heart. After a blissful first playdate, Maggie can’t wait to see her new baby beau again the following day, but things don’t go exactly as planned. Will fate (or Homer) get in her way?"

This is the second Simpsons short film. The first was 2012's Maggie Simpson in 'The Longest Daycare,' which was nominated for an Academy Award. The studio has confirmed it will also hit Disney+ this month.

In related news, it has been confirmed that Disney+ subscribers will able to watch older episodes of The Simpsons in the correct aspect ratio in late May. The entire show was initially released onto Disney+ in the 16:9 aspect ratio, meaning that the first 19 seasons were cropped from their original 4:3 ratio, affecting many of the visual jokes.

The Simpsons is currently in its 31st season. The show may eventually go off the air, and Disney is preparing for that future by announcing many more animated shows.
