Iceland-based CCP has released a new group of screenshots from its upcoming massively multiplayer online space sim, EVE: The Second Genesis. The new screenshots show off four of the detailed character models that will be featured in the game.

EVE: The Second Genesis is a massively multiplayer online game set in space that will combine elements of both strategy games and role-playing games. Players begin the game with a simple spaceship, and they can engage in a number of activities, including trade, mining, research, and piracy. These activities give players' characters valuable experience, and they also earn them money that can be used to purchase ship upgrades.

EVE: The Second Genesis is currently scheduled for release in early 2002, and CCP is currently accepting applications to participate in the upcoming beta test of the game. For more information, visit the official EVE Web site and take a look at our previous coverage of the game.
