New Scream 6 Trailer Delivers A Different Kind Of Ghostface

Ghostface is back and in a whole new hunting ground: New York City.

We got our first look at Scream 6 last month with a tense teaser trailer, but Paramount released a new trailer Thursday morning that shows this Ghostface is something completely different. They seem bolder, more violent, and from what we see in the new trailer, a shrine dedicated to all who have worn the mask before.

For almost 30 years, audiences have been frightened by the Ghostface killer as they collectively have killed almost 50 victims throughout the film franchise. They're back once again to take on New York as Sam (Melissa Barrera) and Tara (Jenna Ortega) try to outrun them once again and come out alive. Check out the new trailer below.

Barrera had said that the latest entry to the long-running franchise will be "a hundred times gorier" than the previous installment, and if this trailer is any indication, it definitely looks that way.

Along with Ortega and Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Hayden Panettiere, and Courteney Cox, are all reprising their roles from earlier movies, most from last year's Scream, which Scream 6 is a direct sequel to. Dermot Mulroney, Henry Czerny, Samara Weaving, and Tony Revolori were later added to the cast.

Both Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett return as directors as well as James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick on the script as they did the last movie.

Franchise star Neve Campbell announced she would not be returning as Sidney Prescott due to not being pleased with the offer presented to her. This is the first film in the franchise not to feature the actress or character.

Scream 6 will be slashing its way to theaters on March 10, 2023.
