New PSN "Launch Party" Event Announced, Get the Details Here

Sony has announced a new PlayStation Store event called Launch Party, which the company is describing as a "celebration of our favorite digital games releasing this spring." A total of six games will be released through April 26, and the party gets started on March 15 with PlayStation 4 game Salt & Sanctuary.

If this sounds familiar, it's because Launch Party is effectively a replacement for Spring Fiver, a multi-week program for which Sony spotlighted new games. Sony also stressed today that the Launch Party event will not replace the weekly deals offered on PSN.

"We really wanted to let the new games have the spotlight with their own event," Sony said, noting that the chosen games were decided collaboratively between it and some third-party studios.

If you preorder any of the six Launch Party titles (full list below), you will save 10 percent and have the ability to pre-load them so you can jump in right when they launch.
