New Overwatch PC Beta Dates Announced

Full roster of characters will be available to test out.

Blizzard has announced the Overwatch beta on PC will be available to play again from Friday 15 April at 9 AM (PDT) until Saturday 16 April at 9 PM (PDT). As with previous tests, the objective is to "help get server hardware and technology ready for release."

"To help us get the most out of this testing phase, we will be flagging accounts for the Beta Test Weekend beginning in the afternoon Pacific Time on Thursday, April 14," Blizzard explained on its website.

"Once flagged, we encourage all new recruits to download and install the beta client so you can be ready for action once the stress test officially begins.

"If you're selected to participate in this Beta Test Weekend, you'll see an Install button appear in the Overwatch tab of your desktop app as well as an Overwatch Beta license in the 'Your Game Accounts' section of Account Management."

Those selected will also receive a notification via email to the address registered with the account.

During the beta the full roster of 21 heroes will be available to sample. However, only the Hanamura, Route 66, and Nepal maps will be included. Additionally, features such as Weekly Brawl and Competitive Play won't be available during the test.

"Since this is a stress test, we're primarily interested in your technical feedback, like how Overwatch runs on your system, your experience with the beta servers, critical bug reports, and other game-impacting problems," it said.

"One of our goals is to push our hardware to the limit, so don't be surprised if you experience performance issues or run into unexpected downtime—that's all part of the process."

Overwatch launches on May 24 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. An open beta will run May 5-9 across consoles and PC. Those that preorder by April 29 can play starting from May 3 and can invite a friend, too.
