New Overwatch Archives Event Blackwatch Features A Big Story Moment

Retribution!

Blizzard has unveiled Retribution, a new mission that will be coming to Overwatch as part of the Overwatch Archives event. Like 2017's Uprising, which allowed players to experience Tracer's first ever mission as part of Overwatch, Retribution delves into another key moment in the series' lore.

"Travel eight years into the past and join Blackwatch as they seek to capture a high-ranking member of the Talon organization," Blizzard explains. "Fight in the streets of Venice as Genji, Moira, McCree, or Reyes (later known as Reaper) to complete the mission and unlock pieces of the past with over 100 items from last year and 60 new ones—including highlight intros, emotes, sprays, and more."

Now Playing: Overwatch - Official Retribution Event Trailer

The trailer, which you can watch above, shows Genji, Moira, McCree, and Reyes infiltrating a building. Naturally, everything goes wrong and before long they're fighting for their lives in a desperate escape. Of course, the characters are wearing their Blackwatch costumes, which will be available to unlock during the game, along with numerous other cosmetic items.

Last year's Uprising mode will also be playable during the Overwatch Archives event, and can be played in Story Mode or All Heroes Mode. Story Mode will properly retell Tracer's first mission in King's Row, with four heroes available: Tracer, Mercy, Reinhardt, and Torbjorn. All Heroes Mode, meanwhile, lets you play the same King's Row mission but as any hero you want. As announced previously, the new Uprising event goes live on April 10.

Overwatch was one of the subjects of Versus, a new, fun debate show on GameSpot. In the first episode ,Tamoor Hussain--an Overwatch fan--and Oscar Dayus--who loves Rainbow Six Siege--argue over which game is better, discussing categories such as characters and map design, before having a much lighter quick-fire question round.
