New On Shudder In December 2021: Holiday Horror Season, Joe Bob Briggs Christmas Special

December is almost here, and that of course means weeks of Holiday-themed viewing. But for many of us, there are only so many happy festive movies and shows that we can stand before we crave something a little darker. Luckily, the horror streaming specialists at Shudder have a month of scary festive treats to look forward to.

An entire season titled the "Unhappy Holidays Collection" will be available, mixing movies that are new to the service with some great existing catalog titles. New releases include the third, fourth, and fifth installments of the Silent Night Deadly Night series, the teen slasher To All A Good Night, and the anthology Screams of a Winter Night. These films join previously available spooky Christmas classics such as Rare Exports, Black Christmas, Christmas Evil, and, of course, the gloriously terrible Silent Night Deadly Night Part 2.

Everyone's favorite horror host, Joe Bob Briggs, is also back with a Holiday-themed Last Drive-In double feature on December 17. This latest special will include a telethon and charity auction of props from The Last Drive-In and personal memorabilia from Joe Bob's long career, plus some yet-to-be-announced movies.

There's a couple of new movies hitting Shudder next month too. The Advent Calendar, which arrives on December 2, focuses on a paraplegic girl who receives a mysterious advent calendar as a gift, with each window revealing something increasingly scary. Less seasonal, but no less compelling, is Death Valley, which releases on December 9. This chiller follows a group of mercenaries who are attacked by a terrifying beast when they are hired to rescue an imprisoned scientist from a secret Cold War bunker.

And if all that wasn't enough, then Shudder's long-running Ghoul Log is back with a new Christmas edition, to help give your home a suitably spooky seasonal atmosphere.
