Electronic Arts has released five new screenshots of the Stormfront Studios-developed PlayStation 2 game, which is based on the Lord of the Rings movies. The first game in EA's multititle deal is The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, scheduled for release on the PlayStation 2 this fall and coinciding with the release of the second movie in the series. The game's storyline will cover events that occur in both of the movies, and the game will have 13 different locations. The teams at EA and Stormfront are working closely with Peter Jackson and New Line Cinema to ensure that the games maintain the same look and feel of the films. The game will also contain music and FMV taken from the upcoming film.

Beyond The Two Towers, EA will also develop games based on the final picture in the trilogy, Return of the King. These products will ship in the fall of 2003. After that is a game inspired by the entire trilogy, which is scheduled for release in 2004. No specific platforms have been mentioned alongside any of these future Lord of the Rings games. We'll have more on The Two Towers and the rest of EA's games as it becomes available.
