New media: Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec

Sony has released several new high-resolution screenshots from Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec for the PlayStation 2. The new images highlight the Tokyo course, the Seattle circuit, the Deep Forest track, the Swiss Alps rally course, and the Special Stage Round 5. The nighttime environmental effects are shown in the screenshots from the Special Stage Round 5 track, as taillights reflect off wet pavement and particle effects such as water spraying from rear tires are visible.

Car models shown in this latest batch of screenshots include the Maxda RX-8, the Castrol Tom's Supra, the Raybrig NSX, the Suburu Impreza rally car, and the Lancer Evolution VII, among others. The final car list in Gran Turismo 3 will include just over 150 car models. The series' creator and the game's producer, Kazunori Yamauchi, plans to put some of the hot 2002 models, such as the aforementioned RX-8, in the game.

Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec is currently scheduled for a June release on the PlayStation 2.
