Metro3D Europe has released new screenshots of its historic game, Defender of the Crown. Developed by Cinemaware, the game is set in the time when King Richard has been murdered and England is thrown into civil war. The bold Saxon knights have chosen you as the warrior to lead them into battle against the Normans. If players succeed, they'll win the Crown of England. Defender of the Crown was originally released back in 1986 on the Commodore Amiga. It was a graphical masterpiece for the time and made Cinemaware a well-known company. The Game Boy Advance version of Defender of the Crown will introduce the Cinemaware brand to a handheld audience for the first time. Metro3D and Cinemaware promise action sequences, nice graphics, and a blend of action and strategy where players engage in sword-fighting duels and castle-shattering catapult sieges.

Defender of the Crown is scheduled to be released in the US in July and in Europe in September.
