Andromeda launches on March 21 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. A free trial for the game will be available through the EA/Origin Access programs on Xbox One and PC starting on March 16. This 10-hour trial lets players test multiplayer and single-player, though the campaign component is locked to a set number of missions.

In other news, BioWare has announced that Andromeda's multiplayer DLC maps will be free, just like they were in Mass Effect 3.

4K not ready this year. Unless you like lowering graphic settings :)

@off3nc3:

My GTX 1080 is running 4k just fine. It may not do a stable 60 fps but it definitely kicks ass.

Avatar image for off3nc3

@warui: I know it does but you can't max everything and have always above 60+ fps drops , especially more demanding titles will pop-up , just take a peak at Ghost Recon Wildlands SLI 2x1080's : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3pAa8MPZG4&t=266s

Dips too 30-40 FPS which is just sad , not even gonna mention The Division and other titles :) So yea 4K not up 2 par yet.

@warui: You would hope so at that price point lol

At least there is an option to turn off chromatic aberration, I really don't know why so many developers have that ugly feature in their games. Hey lets add in faulty color focus for our game, it will looks worse but people want it too look worse right?

Very excited for this game, besides some wonky looking characters, I think the game looks really good. But Bioware has never really been the best at graphics. Hopefully the story and the characters are well written and that they don't botch the ending of this game as they did with ME3. But most importantly I hope the exploration is substantial and not just the typical repetitive Ubisoft busywork that most open world games have. That they have been taking inspiration from Witcher 3 is a very good sign, hopefully they have seen what that game did with exploration and side missions and perhaps even improved on it. Just have to wait and see I guess.

Game looks terrible. I bet the story is bad as the last game. Don't fucking buy it.

@darkninja66613:

Don't tell people not to buy it until you play it yourself. Streamed video isn't a good indicator of anything!

Now, with that said... I don't trust Bioware anymore either.

@darkninja66613: haters really want this game to fail. It ain't gonna!

@darkninja66613: Well considering that a lot of talented Bioware devs left the company, I'm not surprised. And judging by the gameplay footage, its not looking so well.

Avatar image for darkninja66613
darkninja66613

@marty1362: Here we go again with the troll accusation. The last game was terrible, the devs don't even listen to fans anymore. What makes you think this game will be great?

Avatar image for marty1362

@darkninja66613: really brother if i may call you that,i will anyway, if you don't like a game it's as simple as why buy it

Avatar image for Freakshow046

@darkninja66613: No, the last game wasn't terrible... the ending to the last game (in fact being the ending to the entire trilogy) was a huge let down. If that ruined the entire game for you and qualifying it as being terrible, then you must be quite hypercritical, which means you must find most things terrible.

I for one was disappointed with the way they chose to do the ending, but I didn't think the game was terrible because of it. I was more pissed off how they presented Tali's face.

The cheeseball pick A, B, or C ending was a slap in the face. The way they finally revealed Tali was a kick to the nuts.

Avatar image for darkninja66613
darkninja66613

@Freakshow046: Bad ending, Tali's face, no last boss... It's terrible.

Avatar image for warui
Warui

@darkninja66613:

As much as I think Bioware has been corrupted by forces within.

1. There was nothing wrong with the ending. Half the movies I watched growing up ended like that.

2. I didn't need to see Tali's face. Love the character but too many Mass Effect fans had become obsessed with her.

3. Not all games need a final boss. It's their story they can end it how they like.

@darkninja66613: why are you even here then watching? If you dont think the game is good but still watch all the new videos released and make comments about how its bad, thats weird

Avatar image for darkninja66613
darkninja66613

@northernthunder: One of the ways to judge an unreleased game is by watching videos...

Avatar image for warui

@darkninja66613:

Streamed video is the worst way to judge a game. You shouldn't judge a game or book or movie until you actually played, read or watched them.

Nothing about 21:9 support eh? Well DA:I worked well with it for the most part. Just one screen was oddly cut off. I believe it was the Behaviors menu screen. Hopefully this game is fine.

@silversix_: Women characters have to be ugly, because otherwise you don't respect women. Making beautiful women is sexist.

@silversix_: It's the hair, right? Like, every third chick has shaved sides, and none of them have long hair. It must be an engine or animation thing; Bioware can't or doesn't want to deal with hair that moves.

Avatar image for merwanor
Merwanor

@Mogan: Bioware has always been terrible with hair, they just can't do it right. But I also think hair is a big problem for the Frostbite engine. Don't think any of the games using the engine has had good hair.

Avatar image for deviltaz35
DEVILTAZ35

@merwanor: It's such as difficult thing to get right. So many games ended up looking more like spagetti.

I think Farcry 4 has great hair , Witcher 3 does too but it is pretty taxing without the latest and greatest gpu.

Considering the hardware it is running on, the hair in Horizon Zero Dawn is extremely impressive. Best chest hair i have seen in a cutscene lol.

@silversix_: They want you to spend more time enjoying the game and less time trying to shag all the alien chicks.
