2K today released a new trailer for crime game Mafia III, spotlighting main character Lincoln Clay's story. This trailer, titled "The Soldier," is the first in a series of videos that will focus on an important character.

As you'll see in the video, Clay grew up as an orphan and was on the raised streets of New Bordeaux, which is Mafia III's take on New Orleans. He became an outlaw when he fell in with the black mob and eventually took off for the Vietnam War. When he returns, he discovers the Italian mob--led by gangster Sal Marcano--has wiped out Clay's friends and associates. Naturally, he wants revenge, and taking the Italian mob down in 1968 is at the heart of the story.

In other recent news about the game, 2K has announced there will be more than 100 songs on the soundtrack, including "The House of the Rising Sun," "Paint It Black," and "All Along the Watchtower." Another trailer used Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Born on the Bayou" (though this doesn't necessarily mean it will be featured in the game).

Additionally, there will also be a $150 Mafia III Collector's Edition that comes with the soundtrack on vinyl, a 56-page art book, dog tags for main character Lincoln Clay, faux leather drink coasters, and Playboy lithographs.

If you're looking to get a closer look at how Mafia III actually plays, you can check out this 20-minute video that showcases the game's combat, driving, and criminal hideouts.

Mafia III launches on October 7 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
