Earlier today, GameSpot has received a new image of Kojima Productions' mascot, Ludens. The image contains the catchphrase "I'll keep coming," and partially reveals the face of a person, though whether or not it is the face of character that will appear in the new studios' upcoming game remains somewhat of a mystery.

Kojima Productions declined to comment on the content of the new image when asked for further details, stating "You can freely imagine whatever you see."

When the first full-body image of Ludens was revealed in mid-May, Kojima Productions producer Ken-ichiro Imaizumi stated: "This is not an image of the game which we are working on." However, Imaizumi has clarified today that: "This is not a screenshot." Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima has teased that the game will likely appeal to fans of Uncharted 4 and The Division.

While it stands to reason that the image is not taken from the game itself, the latest reveal re-opens the question as to whether or not Ludens will play a part in the studio's upcoming PlayStation 4 and PC game. Kojima recently stated that "When it is announced, you might think, 'That's not outstanding,' but you'll understand when you see it and play it. The genre is action."

Kojima has also expressed his hope that the game will become a series, and inspire other ventures, including anime, manga, and toys.

Kojima is no stranger to revealing his projects through mysterious means. Do you spot anything in the image that may be a hint to his future plans? Let us know in the comments below!

Editor's note: Kojima Productions producer Ken-Ichiro Imaizumi has clarified his previous quote to GameSpot, stating that "the image is not a screenshot," implying that there is a chance it's a teaser for the studio's upcoming game.
