New Hawken update to feature Raider mech and additional map
Other additions include server browser options, holo taunts, and new balance changes.
The next update to the open beta mech combat title Hawken is already out now for the public.
The Raider update adds a new mech for players to use. The Raider is focused on engaging enemies up close with its blitz ability. Its default weapons are a rapid-fire shotgun, a chargeable shotgun, and a dual mode MIRV/grenade launcher.
The update also adds in a server browser option where players can join specific friends in battle or fight against players with equal ranking levels. Gamers also have access to five free holo taunts for use during matches.
The patch also introduces a new map called Facility. While it is still a work-in-progress, players can still select it and test it out using the server browser option. The game’s weapons have been balanced, too, specifically explosive weapons, repair drones and thruster nozzles. Players can now un-equip internals by selecting the empty option on the customization screen.
