Now Playing: New Gotham Poster Gives First Look At Batman - GameSpot Universe News Update

There are only two episodes left until the end of Gotham, and the show is going out on a high note. In the series finale, Batman will finally make his way to the beleaguered city, thanks to a 10-year time jump. Why wait until then to see the Dark Knight, though?

Fox and Warner Bros. TV have released the first look at Gotham's Batman via a promotional poster that shows the Caped Crusader from behind. Sadly, we can't see his face just yet. But finally seeing that cowl on Gotham is exciting. It also gives us an interesting look at the details of this particular Batman costume.

We can't wait to see the Bat in all his glory in the final episode of Gotham. Meanwhile, there's still one more installment before that happens. A description of the April 18 episode reads, "As Bane enacts his final plan for Gotham's destruction, Gordon rallies his former enemies to save the city. Meanwhile, Nyssa al Ghul kidnaps Barbara's newborn daughter with ambitions to raise her as her own. Then, Bruce's decision to leave Gotham points him to his destiny, while devastating Selina."

That's a lot to pack into an hour of TV, but given that most of the series finale will feature the flash forward to Batman's arrival in Gotham, there's really no other alternative. Gotham returns for its penultimate episode on April 18, before the series finale airs Thursday, April 25 on Fox.

I bet they'll probably have Batman series at some point

@camou504: As noted in the story, the series finale has a time jump that brings the Bat to Gotham.

@camou504: I think they said they were working on a prequel to this, which seems very odd. As yea, a Batman show would make more sense.

@uninspiredcup: FOX honestly wouldn't do it justice with their budget. Gotham's a pretty fun series but it doesn't really take itself seriously, if HBO's Watchmen is good then they should get the rights to do a Batman series (also for the record CW doing one would be awful).

There was a couple of leaks, it kinda looks goofy.

The final Joker makeup design is pretty good though, nightmare fuel.

@uninspiredcup: I have to say, I've seen footage of Gotham's Batman in action (they showed a bit to the press) and I thought it looked great. Not sure what the leaks are. However, we're also getting a very comic book-y Penguin and Riddler.

@chrishayner: Guess it could just be a bad photo, was off some dudes phone while he was getting touched up.

Most of the designs are pretty good barring Bane, who looks like a member of the Borg.
