New Game Of Thrones Season 7 Actor Confirmed, Is Definitely Not Who You Expect

More information about the highly anticipated seventh season of Game of Thrones has been revealed. It's now been confirmed that professional baseball player Noah Syndergaard of the New York Mets will have cameo role in an episode of the forthcoming season.

The pitcher told The New York Daily Post is a big fan of the HBO show, and flew to Spain last November to film his part. That's the offseason for Major League Baseball, so the timing worked out. Syndergaard confirmed the news in a silly tweet that seems to suggest he will play a Wildling.

Syndergaard won't be the first famous, non-actor to have a cameo in Game of Thrones. Members of the metal band Mastodon also played Wildlings in a Season 5 episode.

The band wrote the song "White Walker" for the Game of Thrones mixtape Catch the Throne Vol. 2. Mastodon was specially invited to appear in the show by executive producer Dan Weiss, who is a big fan of the group.

In other news, the first poster for Game of Thrones Season 7 has arrived. Posted by Entertainment Weekly, it teases a battle between fire and ice. The poster does not mention a release date.

Game of Thrones Season 7 is expected to premiere on HBO this summer, potentially in July.

In other news about Season 7, Bran actor Isaac Hempstead Wright hashinted at his character's fate. Additionally, actor Jim Broadbent recently teased the character he will play.

Only one more season is planned after Season 7. This may not be end the of Game of Thrones altogether, however, as the show's creators have talked about possible spinoffs.
