New Fortnite Week 7 Challenges Coming Soon, Following Latest Update
A new patch is here.
The next Fortnite patch is coming out soon, albeit not as early as we've come to expect each week. Epic Games has announced that update v5.30 will be released on Thursday, August 23. Additionally, the next week of challenges, Week 7, will be available starting a day later than usual; they'll come on Friday, August 24. Unfortunately, Epic did not share any information about what's new in the patch or what the new challenges will consist of. [Update 2: The new 5.30 update is live in Fortnite, and it actually features some new challenges--but only for those who own the Tomatohead skin, which is temporarily available for sale. The standard Week 7 challenges will still go live on Friday, August 24.]
[Update 1: We now have some idea of what to expect from the new patch. The in-game news feed has teased the addition of something called the Rift-to-Go. Whether that's the actual name or not, you can likely guess what it means--you'll be able to find and transport a Rift you can deploy, presumably wherever you want. The notification says, "Teleport above your current location and glide down." It isn't explicitly stated that this will be in the 5.30 update, but it seems like a safe bet.]
All should become clear soon, so keep checking back with GameSpot for more. The last big patch, v5.21, was released last week. The headline feature of the new update was the brand-new Soaring 50s mode, while an updated version of Sniper Shootout was also released. Additionally, Epic added a new weapon, the Heavy Sniper.
Patch v5.30 is right around the corner! It will release later in the week on Thursday, August 23.

Week 7 Challenges will become available Friday, August 24.
While you have to wait a bit longer to get the new Fortnite update, a new "more cowbell" emote was briefly available in the game, while there was also a new panda skin to buy. Skins and cosmetics are rotated in and out daily, whereas seasonal rewards are available for a total of 10 weeks. You still have a few weeks left to complete Season 5 challenges and earn the accompanying rewards.
