New Doctor Who Spinoff, Class, Reveals Eerie First Trailer

"Time has looked at your faces--and time never forgets."

BBC has released the first trailer for its upcoming Doctor Who spinoff, Class.

The series is set at the fictional Coal Hill school, which was the setting of the very first episode of the time-travelling adventure in 1963. You can see how the school looks in the new trailer.

Peter Capaldi's Doctor delivers a chilling line as footage of the new series plays. He says, "I can travel through time and I can travel through space, but I won't always be there when you need me. Sometimes, you have to take survival upon yourselves. What will you do when the shadows come? When you can't turn away from the darkness ahead. Time has looked at your faces--and time never forgets."

According to the BBC, the show is aimed at a teen audience and is being written by young adult author Patrick Ness.

Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat, who will executively produce the new show, added: "No one has documented the dark and exhilarating world of the teenager like Patrick Ness, and now we're bringing his brilliant storytelling into Doctor Who. This is growing up in modern Britain--but with monsters!"

Class will consist of eight 45-minute episodes. The show was scheduled to premiere in 2016, but it is now due in 2017. It is Doctor Who's third spinoff, following Torchwood and the children's show The Sarah Jane Adventures, both of which ran until 2011.
