Disney+ is getting a new Daredevil series, according to Variety. Rumors of some sort of a reboot project for the franchise have been swirling around for several months.

Although it was expected that Charlie Cox would reprise his role as Daredevil since Marvel boss Kevin Feige said so December 2021, it wasn't until March that information leaked that Disney+ was most likely gearing up on a Daredevil TV series. Citing unnamed sources, Variety is reporting that Matt Corman and Chris Ord (Covert Affairs) will write and executive produce. Marvel has not yet formally made an announcement, and representatives for Corman and Ord have also not yet released a comment.

In early March, Cox speculated in an interview that although Daredevil deserves an R-rated film, Marvel could rise to the challenge in pulling off a successful PG-13 film--or a TV series--featuring the character. Cox added that Daredevil comic storylines that are the most "exciting, readable, and relatable" to him are ones that don't shy away from the character "liv[ing] in a darker space."

However, it's worth noting that this announcement makes no mention of Cox or Vincent D'Onofrio, who recently reprised his Netflix role as Kingpin in the Disney+ series Hawkeye.

Most recently, Daredevil made a brief appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home. In March, Daredevil--along with a number of other series including Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Agents of SHIELD--finally landed on Disney+ after abruptly disappearing off Netflix. On Netflix, Daredevil's series ran from 2015 until 2018 and spanned 39 episodes across three seasons until the streaming service canceled it.
