With the holiday shopping season upon us, it's time to start thinking about gifts for friends and loved ones on your shopping list. One of the best retailers to visit, either in-person or online, for deals during the holidays is Costco. The wholesale retail chain is more than just a great place to shop for bulk groceries; Costco often has enticing deals on gaming and tech products. Many of Costco's best deals are exclusive to members, but right now you can take advantage of the best sign-up deal of the year. All new members who sign up for a $60/year Costco Gold membership will receive a free $40 Digital Costco Shop Card.

This Costco promotion comes with a few caveats. You’ll want to read the lengthy fine print, but the main takeaway is that only new members are eligible for the gift card promotion. But if you’ve never been part of the Costco family, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better time to join. An annual Gold Membership typically costs $60, but with a $40 digital gift card, this essentially cuts that to just $20.

Beyond price cuts and member-only sales, you’ll also gain access to Costco gas stations, the Costco Travel center for discounted vacations, Costco Optical, Costco Pharmacy, and several other auxiliary perks. And as mentioned above, Costco frequently slashes prices on games or hosts exclusive deals for hot new tech and electronics.

Not sure if there’s a Costco near your home? Check out the comprehensive location finder to see every Costco location in the country. Though the in-store shopping experience makes a Costco membership more valuable, the online deals this holiday may make it worth it regardless of whether you have a location near you.
