New Beauty And The Beast Video Shows Off Belle's Dresses And How They've Changed
Beauty and the Beast hits theaters on March 17.
With its release now just days away, a new behind-the-scenes video for Beauty and the Beast has come online. This newest video shows off some of the magical movie's spectacular sets and costumes, including Belle's iconic blue and yellow dresses.
Academy Award-winning costumer designer Jacqueline Duran (Pride & Prejudice) worked on Beauty and the Beast. The costumes are inspired by those seen in the 1991 animated original, though some changes have been made. "I can think of very few dresses that are as iconic as that yellow dress," Belle actress Emma Watson says.

The dress features gold leaf designs and Swarovski crystals, Duran explains. It's seen in the movie during the sequence where Belle and Beast (Dan Stevens) dance together. "We wanted the dress to feel like it could float--and it does," Watson says.
Belle's blue dress, meanwhile, now has pockets so she can carry around books. Additionally, it's been altered so she can ride her horse more easily and comfortably.
The new Beauty and the Beast video comes from retailer Kohl's, which has launched a line of clothing and other home items based on the movie.
Beauty and the Beast opens on March 17, directed by Bill Condon (Twilight series). It also stars Luke Evans, Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, Ian McKellan, Emma Thompson, and Stanley Tucci.
It's expected to have a huge opening, with estimates putting its US box office haul in the area of $120 million, which would make it one of the most successful March openings ever.
