New Assassin's Creed Comic Announced, And It Takes The Series To A Brand-New Location

Assassin's Creed: The Fall & The Chain launches this October.

Ubisoft may not be releasing a new Assassin's Creed game this year, but a new graphic novel based on the hit franchise is on the way. Assassin's Creed: The Fall & The Chain, the latest AC graphic novel from Titan Comics, is slated to hit comic stores this fall, and it takes the series to an entirely new setting: Russia.

The Fall & The Chain follows the story of a new assassin named Daniel Cross, who through hallucinations experiences the past life of a Russian assassin named Nicolai Orelov and his son, Innokenti. According to Titan, the series "tells of Daniel's rise and fall through the ranks of the Assassin Brotherhood, and his subsequent rise through the ranks of the insidious Templars." You can take a look at the cover below.

The Fall & The Chain is being helmed by Cameron Stewart (Fight Club) and Karl Kerschl (Robotech, Isola). It's scheduled to release in October 2019 and will be available both digitally and at brick-and-mortar book stores. You'll also be able to order it through the April edition of Previews. For more, check out the Titan Comics website.

The Fall & The Chain certainly isn't the only Assassin's Creed comic from Titan. Back in December, the publisher released Assassin's Creed: Conspiracies, a two-part standalone series set in another era the franchise hasn't previously explored: World War II. Titan has also published a comic series based on Assassin's Creed Origins, as well as another called Assassin's Creed Uprising, which concludes the Phoenix Project saga introduced in Assassin's Creed Unity.

The latest Assassin's Creed game is 2018's Assassin's Creed Odyssey, which Ubisoft has continued to support with a steady stream of post-launch content. Earlier this week, the developer released the Fate of Atlantis expansion, which focuses on the titular mythological civilization and its larger connection to the Greek underworld.
