New 1 TB Xbox One Bundle Comes With These Three Games

The $400 1 TB Xbox One Holiday Bundle launches in October.

Microsoft's week-long Xbox One bundle announcement campaign continues today with the reveal of another 1 TB system. This package, the Xbox One Holiday Bundle, includes a 1 TB system and copies of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, Rare Replay, and Ori and the Blind Forest.

The bundle will launch in October for $400. Unlike the Rise of the Tomb Raider system, this one does not appear to be exclusive to any retailers. It does not come with a Kinect camera.

Microsoft will reveal three more systems this week. If Monday and Tuesday's schedules are anything to go by, you can expect these bundles to be announced at 6 AM PDT / 9 AM EDT / 2 PM UK every day through Friday.

The Rise of the Tomb Raider and Holiday bundles add to Microsoft's already-extensive lineup of systems. Others include those for Madden NFL 16, FIFA 16, Forza Motorsport 6, and Gears of War Ultimate Edition. In addition, Microsoft will release the Xbox One Elite Bundle in November, while a Halo 5: Guardians system will debut in October.

It seems odd for Microsoft to push old games in some of the bundles when most people upgrade systems to play newer games...

Ehhh its an alright bundle. 32 games with a 1 terabyte sounds good but nothing really special. I'm just waiting for them to announce the Fallout Bundle.

Sweet keep this up Microsoft as I am definitely buying an Xbox 1 with in the next three months, and these 1 TB systems are what I am most interested in.

That's an amazing bundle. I'd totally get it if I didn't already own all GoW games.

Possibly the greatest bundle I've seen yet. Too bad I git the AC bundle last fall.

Hate me all you want, I enjoyed Unity.

Good deal. Though I still have my eye on the tomb raider 1TB bundle. Don't care much for Gears or Forza but tomb raider I can get into!

The only problem I have with this bundle is if you're going to buy a next gen console, you'd probably prefer a next gen game with it... not last gen games. Not saying the games are bad, but I'd definitely have to dish out another $60 or so for something current.

@7tizz: I've played all the uncharted series on ps3, why would I buy them again? I actually still own them and the ps3. I haven't played tlou at all yet, but I do plan on playing it some day. And no, dark souls is not my kinda game. What was the point in asking this? I said those games were good, but if I was to get a next gen console, I'd want to play a next gen game right away. How does that not make sense?

@7tizz: "Dark Souls clone known as Bloodborne" I was wondering if you were a troll until you confirmed it right there.

According to the Xbox One product page for this bundle, you also get the entire Gears of War collection IF you play the remaster online. So technically, there are more games than anyone thought.

"Plus, for a limited time, get the entire Xbox 360 Gears of War collection to play on Xbox One free when you play Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on Xbox Live."

Are they actual games or crappy download vouchers?

@BradBurns: According to the product page I linked above, only Ori is a digital download. The other two titles should be real pack ins.

Without even looking at the article, I'm going to guess that it includes: something new, something old, and something indie.

Yep. Still a better value than that Tomb Raider bundle though.

@flames325: fanboy of what? Lol he's just not a gamer... everyone's heard of those games.

Avatar image for deactivated-5ae060efb3bf6

@joshrmeyer: Mostly play race games. Sorry my bad I guess, but still never heard of two of them, must be really old games.

Avatar image for joshrmeyer

@Triton: they're actually all new releases. Besides ori, the other two are rereleases of games that were old.

You're right. That's why everyone already owns those games.

@Barighm: Over 270 million consoles sold last gen, and we're only 50 million into this gen(if you count the Wii U). I'd say theres a good chance a sizable portion of the 220 million yet to upgrade probably do not own Rare Replay or Ori yet, maybe even a few who never owned a copy of Gears.

Avatar image for suicidesn0wman

@Sevenizz: Isn't the first time I've pointed out how few previous gen console owners have upgraded to current gen tech. There's at least another 4-5 years minimum to go, and the best games the PS4 & X1 will put out might not even have started development yet.

Avatar image for bdrtfm

Wow, that's 32 games ready to install as soon as you set it up. Not bad. Parents can buy this and be sure the person has plenty to play right out of the box.

Avatar image for bobafetthatesu

@bdrtfm: 31 games being last gen or earlier. Not all kids are naive when they ask mommy for a next gen console.

Avatar image for suicidesn0wman

@bobafetthatesu: And almost all of them games that should be played by anyone who considers themselves a fan of games.

Avatar image for bobafetthatesu

@suicidesn0wman: Honestly, I believe anyone buying these bundles are more likely upgrading from past generations than being completely new to gaming.

Avatar image for suicidesn0wman

@bobafetthatesu: I've been gaming for about 30 years and own 3000 games, yet half of the games in Rare Replay were new to me. Even though I own most of the games in the Rare Replay I still bought it.

Avatar image for bobafetthatesu

@suicidesn0wman: ok.. but a new bundle on a new console should still have new games in it. JUST MY OPINION old man.

You rent a storage facility to horde your glamorous collection of 3000 hardly been played games?

edit: shit, my dad bought me the Atari 2600 when it came out in 1977. I guess that make me the old man.

Avatar image for suicidesn0wman
suicidesn0wman

@bobafetthatesu: LOL, I got my first 2600 in 1985, so you're older than me. And no, I have a dedicated gaming room with most of it on display, much of it came from never selling my games/consoles and years of going to various thrift stores rummaging through the shit other people donated/threw away. You can find pictures of my collection in the retro forum, halfway down the 'show us your current retro setup' thread - page 1.
