In the past few years, there has been a rise in popularity for true crime stories, especially on Netflix. And there's a familiar true crime and mystery series returning that debuted in 1987, Unsolved Mysteries. And yes, the series will still feature stories about aliens and the paranormal.

The first trailer for the upcoming series has been revealed, as the show will debut on July 1.

The official synopsis for the upcoming show reads, "Fusing signature elements from the original series with contemporary immersive, character-driven storytelling, the 12 new episodes are rooted in the experiences of ordinary people who have lived the unthinkable--from the trauma of a loved one’s unexplained disappearance or horrific death to the shock of a bizarre paranormal encounter. Alongside detectives and journalists, family members offer clues, present theories, and identify suspects, hoping one viewer holds the key to solving the mystery. From the creators of the original docuseries, Cosgrove/Meurer Productions, and 21 Laps Entertainment, the producers of Stranger Things."

On July 1, only the first six episodes of the first season will launch. Below, you can find the episode titles for those episodes:

Unsolved Mysteries titles:

  • Mystery on the Rooftop
  • 13 Minutes
  • House of Terror
  • No Ride Home
  • Berkshires UFO
  • Missing Witness

The original Unsolved Mysteries ran for 14 seasons, originally debuting on NBC. In 1997, it moved to CBS, and then moved to Lifetime in in 2001 for a couple of years. Robert Stack hosted the series, but sadly passed away in 2003. Spike TV tried to continue the show between 2008-2010 with Dennis Farina, but the series faced heavy criticism for not introducing new cases, only rehashing ones from previous seasons.
