Netflix's Superpower Pill Movie Project Power Gets Ridiculous Trailer
Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt star in the upcoming Netflix film, which releases in August.
With superhero movies and shows everywhere, it takes an original idea to stand out from the pack. The upcoming Netflix movie Project Power has an interesting take on the genre--what if super powers could be manufactured into a pill? The first trailer for the film has now been released.
Project Power stars Jamie Foxx (Django Unchained) as a former soldier who gets involved in the murky world of a new drug that is sweeping the streets of New Orleans. This pill unlocks superpowers that are unique to every individual--it could be super strength, flight, invisibility, or the ability to turn yourself into a human fireball. Foxx's character teams up with a cop played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Inception) to take down the group responsible for its manufacture. It looks absolutely ridiculous, but kind of fun too. Check the trailer out below.
Project Power also stars Dominique Fishback (The Deuce), Machine Gun Kelly (The Dirt), Rodrigo Santoro (Westworld), and Amy Landecker (Transparent). It's directed by Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost, who made Paranormal Activity 3 and 4, as well as the acclaimed documentary Catfish. It hits Netflix on August 14.
