Netflix has announced that its highly anticipated live-action adaptation of Cowboy Bebop will feature new music from the hit sci-fi anime's original composer, Yoko Kanno. The news was broadcast during Netflix's Geeked Week virtual event, a virtual fan-facing event revealing first looks at upcoming content.

Just as thrilling is the news that Netflix's Cowboy Bebop will come to the streaming service sometime this fall. Even though we knew the series had finished filming back in March, there was no indication of when the debut would be until just now during Geeked Week. All this information was also shared in a tweet with a 50-second video clip which simply declares: "There's no Bebop without Yoko." Check it out below.

Last fall, it was reported that Cowboy Bebop added six new cast members: Geoff Stults (12 Strong) as Chalmers, Tamara Tunie (Better Call Saul) as Ana, Mason Alexander Park (Acting for a Cause) as Gren, Rachel House (Thor Ragnarok) as Mao, Ann Truong (Romper Stomper) as Shin, and Hoa Xuande (Top of the Lake) as Lin.

Fans have had to wait quite a while for this iconic '90s series to be given new life. Before COVID, the production also endured a lengthy delay following an injury sustained by star John Cho. For many, there was a growing, joking dread that we may not get to see this version of Cowboy Bebop until 2071--the year in which the series about a bounty hunter crew traveling in their spaceship takes place.

Also so far during Geeked Week, Netflix has announced October as the release date for Locke & Key Season 2 and the episode titles for Umbrella Academy Season 3.
