Netflix has released the first trailer for David Fincher's Mank, which centers around Herman Mankiewicz and his battles with director Orson Welles over screenwriting credit for Citizen Kane. Check out the new trailer below.

Fincher's late father, Jack, wrote the script in the 1990s, with David intending to film it after he completed the Michael Douglas and Sean Penn thriller The Game, but never came to be. Jack Fincher died in 2003 and the project was officially announced in July 2019, with production starting in November.

The film stars Gary Oldman in the title role, along with Amanda Seyfried, Lily Collins, Arliss Howard, Tom Pelphrey, Sam Troughton, Ferdinand Kingsley, Tuppence Middleton, Tom Burke, and Charles Dance as William Randolph Hearst.

This is Fincher's return to film directing since 2014's Gone Girl with Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike. The film will also reunite Fincher with his longtime composers Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, who won the Oscar for their work on The Social Network.

Mank is scheduled to be released in a limited theatrical release in November 2020, before beginning to stream on Netflix on December 4, 2020.
