The first trailer for Blood Red Sky has been released. The airborne horror suspense movie hits Netflix on July 23.

The trailer reveals that the movie is a mix of two popular genres that have rarely been combined before. Basically, it's Die Hard on a plane with vampires. A group of terrorists take over a flight, with a sinister voiceover stating that their demands are monetary and promising very bad things if they aren't met.

However, one of the passengers, the mother of a young boy, has injected herself with some mysterious serum and developed very sharp teeth. The trailer doesn't show us what happens next, but it's a good bet that the gun-toting hijackers weren't expecting to find a vampire amongst their hostages. Check the trailer out below:

Blood Red Sky is directed and co-written by German filmmaker Peter Thorwarth. It stars Peri Baumeister (The Last Kingdom), Roland Møller (Skyscraper, The Commuter), and Dominic Purcell (Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl).

Netflix will also release three movies based on R.L. Stine's hugely popular young adult horror series Fear Street next month. The films are titled Fear Street Part 1: 1994, Part 2: 1978, and Part 3: 1666, and they arrive on July 2, July 9, and July 16 respectively. Check out the Fear Street trailer here.
