Netflix has released the first official trailer for Blockbuster, an upcoming workplace comedy series about the once preeminent video rental store still trying to cling to life. The comedy is set to premiere November 3 on Netflix with a 10-episode season.

Blockbuster stars Randall Park (WandaVision, Fresh Off the Boat) as Timmy Yoon, the manager of the last Blockbuster Video store. The series is created by Vanessa Ramos (Superstore). The cast also includes Melissa Fumero (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Tyler Alvarez (American Vandal), Madeleine Arthur (The Killing), and Olga Merediz (Orange Is the New Black). J. B. Smoove (Curb Your Enthusiasm) will have a recurring guest role as a frequent customer.

As you can see from the trailer above, Blockbuster is very much a comedy. But, as Park told EW in a September interview, "There was just so much going on with these characters. There's just so much history and so many complicated feelings, but also just feelings of real love and camaraderie… it just had so much heart. I think that that's what really sold me."

The series is the second time Netflix has used the Blockbuster brand for a project. In 2020, Netflix debuted a documentary that documents essentially the same story as what this comedy will be poking fun at--the Blockbuster chain's rise and fall.
