As part of Netflix Geeked Week, the streaming service has released our first look at the characters in the latest installment of Seven Deadly Sins: The Grudge Of Edinburgh. The first of a two-part anime film will arrive on Netflix sometime in December 2022.

Netflix teased the release earlier this year back in April, when a report coming out of AnimeJapan 2022--the largest anime convention in Japan--revealed a significant surge in anime viewing around the world in 2021. In addition to releasing that report, Netflix also offered a sneak peek at The Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh. The film is the latest installment in a long-running manga and anime franchise that features a setting similar to the European Middle Ages, and with a group of knights representing the seven deadly sins.

A synopsis in part reads: "Tristan inherits the power of the Goddess Clan and can heal people's wounds and injuries, but he often ends up hurting others due to his inability to control his Demon Clan power. To protect his family, Tristan heads to Edinburgh Castle and meets a host of new friends along the way."

The film is co-written by long-time Seven Deadly Sins scribes Nakaba Suzuki and Rintarou Ikeda. It's directed by Bob Shirohata, who has steadily helmed many titles since 1988's Transformers: The Headmasters.
