During Geeked Week Day 2, Netflix announced it will be bringing a film adaptation of the popular Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead manga series to the streaming service. Zom 100 doesn't yet have a release date, but a first-look photo was issued with the announcement--you can check it out below.

Inspired by the hit horror-comedy manga series, a synopsis for the original series is as follows: "After spending years working for a soul-crushing company, Akira's life has lost its luster. But when a zombie apocalypse ravages his town, it gives him the push he needs to live for himself. Now Akira's on a mission to complete all 100 items on his bucket list before he… well, kicks the bucket."

Written by Haro Aso and illustrated by Kotaro Takata, the Zom 100 manga series originally began in Japan in 2018. In 2022, the series was nominated for the Eisner Award in the Best U.S. Edition of International Material--Asia and Best Humor Publication categories. To date, the series so far spans eight volumes, with the eighth being released on June 17.

If you're itching for more fresh Netflix zombie content, good news: Earlier in Geeked Week, Netflix also released a horrifying new trailer of the live-action Resident Evil series. The first season of Resident Evil will consist of eight episodes when it debuts July 14 on Netflix.
