Neopets: The Darkest Faerie E3 2003 Preshow Report

Sony Computer Entertainment America will be throwing younger PlayStation owners a bone this November with the release of Neopets: The Darkest Faerie. The game is inspired by the Neopets.com Web site, which revolves around the information-age concept of virtual-pet ownership. The video game version will extend the world of Neopets.com considerably in a story-based action adventure.

Neopets: The Darkest Faerie will plop you down in the land of Neopia and send you on a journey with the Neopians to solve a mystery and ultimately fight and defeat the Darkest Faerie, who is threatening the land. During your travels, you'll encounter friendly Neopets, and you'll also have to fight Neopets under the influence of the Darkest Faerie. There will be a number of rare items that you can collect, and several minigames will be on offer as well. Interestingly, you'll even be able to transfer some items between the PlayStation game and the Neopets.com Web site.
