A full sequel to the cult hit RPG The World Ends With You has been announced, and it's coming surprisingly soon.

Square Enix has announced a sequel to the cult hit The World Ends With You, simply titled Neo: The World Ends With You. The game is coming to the Nintendo Switch and PS4 next summer.

A debut trailer shows off the art style and combat and introduces some of the key characters. The dialogue is all delivered in Japanese--the first TWEWY and this one canonically take place in Shibuya--but it provides a pretty good look at the game's tone and style.

The new game looks stylish like the first game, but now all in 3D with a distinctly Jet Set Radio look. The combat also appears to have been given an overhaul.

The original received a Switch port in 2018, which was a less-than-ideal way to play the classic but still remains one of the most accessible ways to get your hands on it so long after release. GameSpot's Randolph Ramsay said that despite some small issues, players should still catch up with it.
