Necrocide laid to rest

Necrocide: The Dead Must Die, NovaLogic's action game focusing on hunting the undead, has been canceled.

Game news site Gone Gold reported earlier today that development on NovaLogic's action game Necrocide: The Dead Must Die has been halted. We confirmed with a NovaLogic representative that the game has indeed been canceled so that the company can focus its attention on a new cross-platform project that will make use of a high-profile license. Necrocide was to have been an action game that starred a vampire protagonist who was tasked with hunting and defeating armies of evil undead. The game was to have featured the artwork of fantasy artists Oscar Chichoni and Isabel Molina, and it was originally scheduled for release later this year. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game.

While no further information about NovaLogic's upcoming game has been announced, the publisher plans to reveal more at the 2002 Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles next month.
