NBA ShootOut 2004 signs three hotshots

989 Sports announced that the NBA's leading scorer last season, Tracy McGrady, and two-time gold medalist Gary Payton have been signed to new, two-year spokesperson deals. Last year's ShootOut cover boy, Ray Allen, has signed to an additional two years as a company spokesperson.

In addition to their duties representing the game, the three players will also act as "contributing consultants" for the game.

By signing three guards to represent ShootOut, it is apparent that Sony's 989 Sports brand is not focused on zone defense, though Payton has been a defensive standout, earning a place on the NBA All-Defensive First Team nine seasons in a row, from 1994 to 2002.

Due for release in October, NBA ShootOut 2004 will feature the Orlando Magic's McGrady on the cover.
