NBA Live 2001 is the most visually appealing basketball game on the PC. A brand-new graphics engine has made it possible to create player models using a very high number of polygons and textures that clearly represent each individual's likeness. Additionally, the new engine makes it possible for NBA Live 2001 to feature a number of new animations for moves like the up and under, drop step, jump hook, and reverse layup.

Like Madden 2001, NBA Live 2001 now features all of the NBA teams' coaches standing on the sideline, and they'll argue bad calls, yell at players, and display a wide range of emotions depending on the flow of the game. NBA Live 2001 has several new gameplay modes built in, including a "win by ten" challenge, triple double mode, and three consecutive treys. For those who prefer a slower pace, NBA Live 2001 has an enhanced franchise mode that lets you assume the role of a general manager, wherein you'll be able to exercise trades, choose draft picks, and receive scouting advice.

NBA Live 2001 is set for a fall 2000 release, well before the start of next year's NBA season.
