But they won't say what it is.

Naughty Dog knows the release date for The Last of Us Remastered, but they aren't saying what it is, only what it's not--June 13. Writing on Twitter, The Last of Us director Bruce Straley bluntly stated, "We have a release date," with an image of The Last of Us Remastered.

Yesterday, Sony confirmed that The Last of Us Remastered's rumored June 13 release date was false. UK retailer GAME first suggested the game would launch on that date, but the shop has since issued a statement saying this date was false and apologized for any confusion.

Officially, The Last of Us Remastered is set to launch on PlayStation 4 sometime this summer. A handful of retailers believe the game will launch on June 20, though this could just be guesswork on their part.

The Last of Us Remastered is a $60 game and is being developed internally at Naughty Dog. The studio is aiming to have the game to run at 1080p/60fps with "higher resolution character models, better lighting, and better shadows," according to Naughty Dog co-president Evan Wells.

The Last of Us creative heads Neil Druckmann and Straley are now leading the team making the new Uncharted game for PS4. It remains to be seen what this might mean for the rumored Last of Us sequel. 2013's original Last of Us has sold more than 6 million copies to date. A movie based on the game is in the works.
